Nimat Asaad Kanaan: The first woman general director for the Ministry of Social Affairs

Nimat Asaad Kanaan became the first woman general director of the Ministry of Social Affairs, occupying the position from 1993 to 2005. She headed many national projects, including the Project for Developing Social Care from 1972-1997, and was the vice president of the National Committee for Population ¹.
